BYBORRE x PARLEY

Parley and BYBORRE bring eco-innovation to conscious textile production and introduce special edition made from Ocean Plastic®

As the Material Revolution picks up pace, we’ve collaborated with Dutch textile innovation studio BYBORRE to create innovative textiles and wearable products that push the boundaries of material science. The first collection, BYBORRE’s Edition9™, brings together Parley Ocean Plastic® yarns with the brand’s bespoke textile production. The consciously engineered knitwear features uniquely patterned vests, sweaters, hats and more. Inspired by nature, the collection revolves around respectful appreciation and awe for the oceans.

To create Edition9™, BYBORRE used Parley Ocean Plastic® in its purest form, un-dyed and derived directly from the feedstock material itself — upcycled plastic waste intercepted from beaches and coastlines. Without the addition of dyes, the yarn maintains a light blue tint, a reminder of the original source of the material and the threat we are working to end: plastic waste.

With a singular mission – to think about the future of people and the planet – Parley and BYBORRE have created a new fabric for the next generation. Together, our aim is to inspire fellow designers and manufacturers to challenge the status quo, question materials and methods, and help drive a material revolution by transforming products into symbols of change. The Edition9™ collection is set to release this Autumn 2021 through select retailers worldwide.

"The partnership with Parley makes this our purest Edition to date. By combining Parley’s innovative Ocean Plastic® yarns made from upcycled marine debris with our on demand bespoke textile creation platform, we can produce textiles and products on scale which demonstrate a near circular, production and consumption cycle.
