Parley and Frescobol Carioca collaborate to support eco-innovation and ocean initiatives with a capsule of athleisure pieces created from Parley Ocean Plastic®

Parley and the Brazilian lifestyle brand Frescobol Carioca have teamed up to create a capsule collection of Rio-inspired sportswear made from Parley Ocean Plastic®, our material created from upcycled marine plastic debris and fishing gear recovered from coastlines and remote islands around the world (e.g., the Maldives, the Dominican Republic and Sri Lanka), and engineered into high performance materials by the Parley global network. The collection marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between Parley and Frescobol Carioca, with the brand aiming to drive eco-innovation in resort wear using materials and production methods that support the protection of our oceans and beaches.

As Frescobol Carioca describes, this capsule collection takes inspiration from the oceans and "champions the energetic surfing spirit that shapes Rio's famed beach culture." Items range from water-repellent swimwear to an all-new technical jersey fabrication, incorporating Ocean Plastic® to achieve a performance-driven edge while supporting our long-term vision of a material revolution, a healthy ocean, and a future beyond plastics.

Additionally, revenue generated from sales will be reinvested to support Parley’s mission, with funding going towards Parley’s education programmes and clean up projects in Brazil, ensuring that each piece within the collection is a symbol of change and a vehicle for transformation.

Our design and production teams are excited to incorporate Parley's Ocean Plastic® into our production methods — in particular, creating an all-new Board Swim Short which has a water-resistant finish as a result of the unique blend of Ocean Plastic and spandex.
