Parley hosts a conversation between Captain Paul Watson and American artist David LaChappelle to discuss growing concerns related to pollution from single-use plastics.

February 8th was a magical night for the oceans.  500 guests from fashion to media, art, and music, entered the majestic Milstein Hall of Ocean Life at the American Museum of Natural History in New York to the sound of whale songs. Bathed in blue light beneath the life-size 94-foot blue whale, the largest animal on the planet, Parley presented The Vortex Project’s first collaboration: “RAW for the Oceans”, a long-term collaboration between G-Star RAW x Bionic Yarn, curated by Pharrell Williams.

There are five seas that make up what is the Ocean – and the life support system of this ancient spaceship that we call the Earth.

Every social revolution throughout history has been initiated by passionate individuals, not by governments, or soulless bureaucracies. And every social revolution has succeeded when enough individuals exercised the virtues of passion, courage and imagination.

Parley was invited to take part in World Energy Day at the United Nations to address and brief world leaders and delegates on the state of the oceans.

Parley Berlin took place during Fashion Week from July 2-4, 2013 to form alliances for The Vortex Project and accelerate the movement to end marine plastic pollution. 

Creators, thinkers and leaders come together to kick-off the movement. The first Parley took place on February 7, 2013, hosted by artist and filmmaker Julian Schnabel at his Palazzo Chupi in NY.
