The climate is changing. The oceans are rising, acidifying, heating up and filling with plastics. Coral reefs are bleaching. Species are vanishing into extinction — and humans are driving this destruction. What happens next is up to all of us. We have the opportunity to change everything for the better, but we have to act right now. Let’s rise to the challenge and own it, together. Ocean Uprise (OU) was formed by Parley to provide a space and network where young and emerging creators, thinkers and leaders can raise awareness, learn, collaborate and take action for the oceans.
Through the OU movement, young people gain access to world-class speakers, immersive experiences, workshops, and a youth network in over 35 countries around the world. If you are between the ages of 16 - 30, and are looking forward to connecting, talking, and meeting awesome people while protecting this beautiful blue universe, you are in the right place. Consider yourself officially invited to join the movement!
JOIN THE MOVEMENT
Are you ready to become an ocean activist but not sure where to start? Two times a year, twenty youth from around the globe are selected to join a 6-week program where they learn from ocean experts, take part in skill-based workshops, and implement a local community project of their choice.
Free “how-to” manuals created for youth on how to take action for the oceans in their own communities. OU Toolkits are suitable for young people who want to take the first step into ocean activism, as well as more experienced ocean activists looking for more guidance. Ocean Uprise Ambassador Program
A chance for dedicated youth activists to scale their impact in the ocean-climate space. During a six-month period, selected Ambassadors are given funding to engage and educate 1,500+ individuals through direct action.
A 5-day experience dedicated to empowering young leaders to accelerate change #fortheoceans. Each summit focuses on the scientific and cultural understanding of marine environments and the co-creation of solutions with a world class line up of speakers, teachers and special guests.
Our youth team offers free talks to raise awareness for critical ocean issues and empower youth around the world to take action for the oceans. These talks explore major ocean threats and help us better understand what we can do to protect this beautiful blue universe, take a deeper dive into Ocean Uprise and learn about the power of youth voices.
Join young people around the globe as we “Fundraise for the Oceans”. All funds directly support Ocean Uprise initiatives focused on youth education, mentorship, internships, plastic interception, ocean immersion sessions, and the Summit. Everything starts with inspiration. Ocean Uprise hosts virtual sessions that allow our youth network to learn from ocean leaders around the world. These ocean experts share their unique experiences and perspectives to inspire youth to take action in the ocean space.
