From Threat to Thread: Real Madrid Third Kit Launch

New Methods. New Mindsets. A New Future.

The new Real Madrid 3rd kit for the 2018/19 season, made from Parley Ocean Plastic®, was revealed by the team at an event in New York City with adidas and Parley. The on-stage unveil included players Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Toni Kross, Nacho Fernanadez, and Sergio Ramos along with founder of Parley for the Oceans, Cyrill Gutsch, and members of adidas Football.

Made with Ocean Plastic® and with a unique color inspired by the corals, the jersey is a symbol of change that represents shared values of creativity, eco-innovation, and collaboration.

The event featured a panel discussion focused on topics such as marine plastic pollution and the importance of collaboration to identify solutions that will help protect our oceans. Among the attendees were twenty local children who had the opportunity to meet their heroes and educate them on the threat that single use plastic poses. Earlier that morning they participated in a series of workshops with Parley staff and ambassadors where they learned about the importance of the Oceans and the need to protect them. As well as about the connection between sports and the environment. In the afternoon, kids shared this message with Real Madrid players, highlighting the importance of youth as the leaders of tomorrow.
