Anja Rubik is one of most successful models of the 21st century and a passionate activist for the oceans, women’s empowerment, immigrant rights, sex education and forest conservation in her native Poland. As a Parley ambassador and the founder of sex ed initiative #sexedPL, Anja uses her global following and fashion industry influence to promote causes and issues she deeply believes in.

Her career as a model began in the late 1990s when she moved to Paris, inspired by the supermodels of the era and their outsize impact on pop culture. Little did she know that in just ten years, she would be officially classed as a supermodel and one of the most in-demand talents in the world. First making waves as the face of Chloé, she went on to appear in campaigns for Gucci and Fendi, becoming a favourite with fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld.

“Imagine a healthier natural world, one in which most plastic pollution is a thing of the past. Use the power of your choice, your voice, your vote and make that future a reality.”

In 2012, Rubik founded 25 Magazine and served as editor-in-chief, later curating the Art & Fashion Forum, an open platform for education. Her first book sold over 100,000 copies and led to the launch of #sexedPL, which pushes for better gender and sex education in Poland. She has spoken at numerous Parley events including at the United Nations and DUMBO House during World Oceans Week, and starred in the Summer 2018 Collector’s Edition of Porter Magazine in support of Parley. Beyond appearing on three collectable covers of the magazine, she travelled with photographer Mario Sorentti to the Maldives to explore issues surrounding plastic pollution in a landmark 34-page photoshoot that brought Parley’s message to a global audience.
