Ocean 2 Ocean run: the home stretch
With just over a week to go, Parley collaborator Sam Bencheghib’s epic 3,000 mile run across America against plastic pollution is almost complete
There have been highs — like crossing the Rocky Mountains, talking at schools, running through America’s most incredible landscapes, and meeting friendly locals in unexpected places — and there have been lows, namely giant trucks whizzing by, endless canned food, and a recent Achilles injury that left him limping.
But since leaving New York City in July last year, Sam Bencheghib has pushed on unrelentingly… day in, day out. The 22-year-old athlete, activist, Parley collaborator and co-founder of Make a Change World has now covered 13 US states and is down to less than 200 miles to go.
Along the way he’s raised awareness of the devastating impacts of plastic pollution on our oceans and met with leaders, athletes, students, and ordinary Americans calling on them to sign the Parley A.I.R Pledge and to inspire change.
