adidas x Parley: Run for the Oceans, Korea
300 runners come together to take action and support the cause
In October 2017, adidas x Parley brought the movement to Busan, South Korea. To kick off the adidas Korea x Parley alliance, over 300 participants came out for another Run for the Oceans, showing their commitment to action — and taking it through another display of sports-driven unity. The event was part of a larger series of dedicated Parley talks and workshops held to raise awareness of the threat of marine plastic pollution, inspire new ideas, and explore ways adidas Korea and Parley can work together along the spectrum of solutions.
Parley founder Cyrill Gutsch discussed the philosophy and success of the Parley AIR Strategy, emphasizing the need for more collaboration and eco innovation. Parley member Chris Jordan presented his film Albatross, a visual journey told through the toll of plastic pollution on a population of birds in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Both the film and the running event highlight an important truth: we are all more connected than we realize. And we're at our best when we work together.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to make this Run for the Oceans a huge success and a powerful start to another important chapter in the movement.
