adidas Originals x Parley
"Every second breath we take is created by life in the oceans. Still, we are killing it off in rapid speed. With adidas Originals we are encouraging and equipping the resistance, the next generation of creators. Rebels, troublemakers and emerging talent who understand the need for change better than anyone. They do, because it's their future."
Cyrill Gutsch, founder of Parley for the Oceans
The Shoe
It can be easy to forget or overlook our relationship with the health of the earth’s oceans, especially in urban environments. Together with adidas Originals, we are seeking to create change by turning problems into progress, and we’re calling on the generation of eco innovation to join us in owning this challenge.
For the first product collaboration with adidas Originals, we introduce the EQT Support ADV sneaker, available in two colorways and made using Parley Ocean Plastic™ — materials created from upcycled plastic waste intercepted on Maldivian beaches and in coastal communities before it reaches the ocean.
The adidas Originals by Parley EQT Support ADV puts eco-innovative thinking into practice, using Parley Ocean Plastic to create a new expression of adidas Originals design. Each shoe channels a spirit of moving forward together, finding solutions to global problems through creativity, collaboration, and action.
The Goal
Exploring the state of flux that defines ocean and city, in this new collaboration adidas Originals and Parley come together on a shared mission to learn, evolve, and reconfigure the way we think about pollution in the world’s oceans. The end goal is a new understanding of sportswear and eco-innovation that spins problems into solutions, threats into thread.
The Art
adidas Originals by Parley partnered with three conceptual artists to create unique works for this collection. Creating change one thread at a time. See more from Ana Maria Guerra, Ella Goerner, and Sophie Green.
The EQT Support ADV made from Parley Ocean Plastic is available as October 14th
