Green School Bali x Parley: Ocean Climate Action

Empowering creative change-makers THROUgh environmental education

To face today’s environmental crises, we need to work together as a connected system of individual creators, thinkers and leaders. Everyone has something to contribute. How do you find your role, and own it to effect change?

Green School Bali x Parley share a common belief that a better future is possible through education that empowers and challenges individuals to become creative change-makers. We believe that by removing barriers to environmental education and helping people of all ages find their personal connection to the oceans, we can help a new generation of ocean advocates find their voice as activists and use it to make a positive impact in the world.

In our free, virtual, collaborative course series available on edu.parley.tv, students hear directly from Green School teachers and students, and gain the tools and inspiration to question, think and act for the oceans, our planet and our future.

Ocean Climate Action — Parts I, II, & II

Designed to answer two questions when it comes to saving the oceans: Why me? And why now? This course series takes learners on a journey that starts with building a deeper understanding of, and connection to, our vast ocean ecosystems. From there, it delves into tools to help learners confront climate denial, think in circular and regenerative systems, and promote solutions to plastic pollution.

In videos, readings and journal reflections, you’ll learn to confront climate denial, challenge linear economic systems, help tackle plastic pollution and make a positive impact in your community and world. Lessons are designed to help you connect more deeply to the oceans and, most crucially, to yourself.

iAct

iAct is a educational bootcamp, held virtually, following design thinking to help students act on their passions and turn ideas into impacts that ripple across the world. Through the program youth ideate and brainstorm ways in which they can bring the change they wish to see into their communities.

The Green School Bali x Parley iAct online program harnesses the ideas and knowledge from Ocean Climate Action and related courses, helping students create and share an action plan that may lead to positive impacts on our environment and society.

Applications are now open for the online iAct course starting January 30, 2024. We are seeking 40 self-motivated, collaborative students aged 16-20 to enroll and learn alongside Green School Bali students with the Parley network of ocean activists and advocates. Apply by January 4 at the link below.
