Parley x NOMAD St. Moritz
Parley, Phillips Auction House, NOMAD and AD Italia join forces for the Oceans in St Moritz
At the end of February, Parley took part in the one-of-a-kind art and collectible design fair NOMAD St Moritz, Switzerland, where we were joined by Phillips Auction House and AD Italia to celebrate creative collaboration and eco-innovation in contemporary art and design.
Nomad establishes a unique dialogue between art, architecture, and design in an intimate setting that differs from traditional, large-scale fairs. To mark the occasion, we exhibited works by several artists and collaborators supporting our cause - for the oceans. On view was a new print edition by Jiří Georg Dokoupil, a surfboard by Rosemarie Trockel and a limited edition Tatiana Trouvé print.
“From the very beginning NOMAD has put forward a visionary, cutting-edge mission and promoted practices that combine tradition with contemporary aesthetics. In keeping with this mission, NOMAD has always valorized traditional craftsmanship, ‘perhaps the most tangible manifestation of cultural heritage’ according to UNESCO, and approaches in art and design that are respectful of the environment, providing a counterpoint to mass-production or harmful and extractivist uses of resources.”

The works on view at Nomad focused on the theme “Material Revolution” — a goal we approach through the Parley AIR Strategy (Avoid, Intercept, Redesign) — and included a selection of 3D printed furniture and objects designed by Nagami using Parley Ocean Plastic®, a premium material created from upcycled plastic waste recovered from remote islands, waters and coastlines. Our CLEAN WAVES glasses and artist edition ocean tote bags were also on display, with all sales proceeds directly supporting the Parley Global Cleanup Network.
This 11th edition of Nomad included the first Sustainable Design Summit in Engadin, held February 25th in partnership with AD Italia at Grace La Margna St Moritz.
Cyrill Gutsch, Parley founder and CEO, participated on one of the highlighted panel discussions, sharing our vision for the Material Revolution and our work to drive global impact and eco-innovation. He was joined by Tsherin Sherpa (Nepalese artist based between California and Kathmandu), Rossana Orlandi (Director of Milan-based gallery Rossana Orlandi Gallery), Demet Müftüoğlu (Curator, creative director, and co-founder of ISTANBUL’74), and Francesca Neri Antonello (Founder of FNA Concept).
“The mastering of craftsmanship, the continuation and creative revival of age-old traditions and know-how, are all integral to safeguarding the planet and creating a more sustainable future. In short, art, design, and architecture can play a significant role, leaving a positive footprint.”
